Who gives children time to be children?
The story of Gera Kairos began with a desire to create living spaces for learning in nature and to transform the way we experience education and childhood.
We believe childhood has its own rhythm, often forgotten in the rush of contemporary life. Gera Kairos is a manifesto for slowness and depth, reminding us that childhood is a time that cannot be repeated.
Our mission is to give children back the right to explore the world with their whole bodies, bringing movement, curiosity and nature into their experiences. We value play, individual rhythms and the quality of the learning process.

Who is behind Gera Kairos?
We are two friends - one an early childhood educator, the other a physical education teacher. Together, we share the certainty that childhood, and life as a whole, need quality Time.

Rita Alexandre
EDUCATIONAL LEAD
“I believe childhood needs time to play and learn through movement, bringing together body, mind and all the languages of childhood.”

Teresa Belchior
EDUCATIONAL LEAD
“I believe that a calm, happy childhood, with time for discovery and curiosity to guide us, is essential if we are to grow into more fulfilled and happier young people and adults.”
Mission
To provide enriching moments of exploration, learning and enjoyment for everyone, regardless of age.
What guides our work
Gera Kairos is inspired by the rhythms of childhood and nature, by listening to children and by creating experiences that bring together body, imagination and community. We believe returning to nature is essential to rediscover time, presence and the quality of experience.
Vision
To be a source of inspiration in education, building intergenerational bridges through shared experiences, knowledge and wisdom, and helping educational communities, families and children make room for quality time in their lives.
What happens when we make time to live
At every gathering, children, families and schools discover new ways of being with nature, with their bodies and with one another.
“
“We learned that nature is not just a backdrop, but a living place that teaches us to breathe, reconnect with childhood and savour time.”
Marta G., EXPLORER FAMILY
“
“The children returned from their visit to Gera Kairos carrying proof that, when there is time and space, childhood unfolds fully through movement and discovery.”
