The Seeds of Gera Kairos
We believe in an approach to education built on the following foundations:
Learning in nature

Hands in the soil and bodies in motion. Taking on challenges and risks through play, exploring natural materials, observing nature's cycles and learning from the animals that visit us.
Taking risks safely

Exploring challenges with confidence. Every step is supported, so that risk can be experienced safely, consciously and freely.
Exploring freely

Discovering through the body and curiosity. Time to create, experiment and imagine - without rushing, with room to act, think and make mistakes.
Bringing generations together
Hands that teach and hands that discover. We connect generations through shared knowledge, curiosity and the stories brought to life through every gesture.

Listening to children's voices

Through active listening, we recognise each child as the protagonist of their own journey. We give time and space to their ideas, curiosity and construction of knowledge.
Growing with purpose

We value the journey, not just the outcome. Educating for life means nurturing critical thinking, empathy and a deep connection with the world around us.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Gera Kairos?
Gera Kairos is an educational project that values the quality of time lived and the learning experience itself. We create diverse educational settings and reconnect children and communities with nature, giving meaning to discovery through process, active bodies and curiosity.
What ages are the experiences designed for?
Our experiences are adapted for children aged 3 to 12, as well as families and educational communities that value learning through exploration, movement and direct experience.
What if it rains?
Nature is unpredictable, but Gera Kairos is flexible. If needed, we hold sessions in sheltered areas or bring nature-based exploration indoors.
What should children wear?
Comfortable clothes they can play, explore and discover in without worrying about getting dirty. Choose clothes that can carry the stains and marks of a day well spent, along with sturdy footwear suitable for active movement.
Do parents take part in family experiences?
Yes. Parents' participation is essential. We create opportunities for families to slow down, be present and enjoy quality time together. We believe that playing, exploring and discovering side by side strengthens relationships and creates learning that lasts.
Is it safe?
We believe supported risk-taking is an important part of child development. Our experiences are guided by qualified educators, allowing each participant to explore, build confidence and test their limits in a safe and mindful environment.
Where do the experiences take place?
Our space is located at Quinta Vale de Mulheres, in Santana da Carnota, Alenquer. We have a pine woodland full of challenges, a forest to explore, a courtyard for building and a Creation Room open to the imagination.
How can I book a visit?
